COVID-19 Relief Efforts

COVID can't stop us!!

COVID-19 has impacted low-income families and seniors, both from an economic standpoint and through a disproportionate burden of illness and death. In the midst of this global crisis, it has been a privilege and honor for FOSCI to step up and reach out to help the most vulnerable populations, while training and employing economically disadvantaged youth and adults, as well as individuals who have lost employment because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the onset of the pandemic, FOSCI has provided over 26,000 healthy, made from scratch, packaged meals to low-income families and seniors who reside in one of Chester County's four qualified low-income census tracts. FOSCI has served these vulnerable populations through the following organizations: the West Chester Mayor's office, the West Chester Area Senior Center, Denny Reyburn Apartments. Church Street Towers, Coatesville Towers, the Brandywine Center and the Bridge Academy and Community Center.

The Charles A Melton Arts & Education Center, the Alliance for Health Equity, United Way of Chester County, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Chester County Hospital/Penn Medicine, and the Department of Environmental Protection have been invaluable partners in the charitable meal program by providing a wide array of resources including grant funding for food, equipment, and a delivery vehicle.
